ELAP (Experiential Learning Abroad Programs), a subsidiary of ISA, was founded in 2002 as a way to encourage university students to go abroad, contribute to community development and experience profound interaction with local people and organizations. These programs provide participants the opportunity to gain valuable personal and professional experience while working with various organizations and non-profits.
Individual placements are available in the fields of business, health, policy, social work, education, museums and conservation for periods of 2 to 16 weeks (depending on location and placement). Summer group projects are available in five Latin American countries and are designed around 2-week volunteer projects in social work. Additionally, ELAP offers Spring Break programs in social work and conservation.
