Established in 1996, this organization is an international authority in consumer trends. It identifies, analyzes and forecasts social and consumer trends for over 160 major clients across the globe. Maintain the online database, conduct research, respond to client inquiries, assist on consultancy projects, and contribute to the online trends tool by writing articles and assessing trends. Participants should have strong Microsoft Office and internet proficiency, and a familiarity with SPSS analytics software is recommended. This placement is ideal for economics students who are strongly interested in international affairs.
Digital Media Agency
This agency advises on all areas of PR and digital media including: press, TV & radio coverage, copywriting & newsletters, production & management of websites and blogs, social media & video, guerrilla marketing campaigns and more. Participants will draft client reports, collate and analyze press coverage, support PR account managers with research and insight, manage the agency’s Twitter account, and assist in basic office administration.
Fashion Boutique
Established over a decade ago, this fashion boutique is the epitome of on-trend British style. It has six locations throughout London and receives its inspiration from the glamour of Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s. Participants assist in a variety of areas such as sales, visual merchandising, management, administration and print media.
Hospital
Provide social and welfare services to patients, particularly those who are socially isolated or have no visitors. Orient incoming patients and assist them in completing menu cards, reading and/or writing letters, and preparing for meals. Help staff to serve meals, refill medical supplies as necessary, and assist with basic administrative tasks. This placement is ideal for individuals interested in nursing.
Hospitality Staffing Agency
This agency provides part-time and full-time staff to the hospitality industry within London. Participants organize event-specific logistics including transport, uniforms and accommodations. Participants will also develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, assist in office administration, and provide support to other departments including recruitment, payroll, sales and HR.
Senior Citizens Resource Center
This organization exists to serve the needs of older citizens in the London Borough of Camden. Assist staff to ensure that user needs are met within the center, establish and maintain relationships with visitors using the center, develop and implement activities such as computer lessons, card games, gardening, and art classes, and assist with all aspects of lunch, serving tea, dishwashing and moving furniture. This placement is ideal for individuals interested in nursing and geriatric care.
Social Media Marketing Agency
The mission of this company is to provide performance-based marketing via the internet to boost revenues for clients. Intern in the areas of web design and web development. Participants must have extensive experience in their internship field such as html, coding, social media profile design, PHP programming, HTML/CSS, and/or Drupal.
Record Label
Established in 1998 by two brothers, this record label is a rising star on the London circuit. Participants will receive hands-on experience in the music industry and gain valuable insight into the London music scene. Participants will assist with the delivery of music to digital platforms (e.g., Spotify and 7digital), assist with promos and mail outs, handle online shop orders, aid with artist statements and attend music gigs.
All individual placement participants complete an
ELAP Portfolio as part of their program.
